Ofori-Atta's speech explained in a speech on Thursday that the reason for the increase in fuel prices was largely due to the increase in crude oil prices in international markets, which has led to a slowdown in exchange rates for oil prices.

He also revealed that negotiations are ongoing with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to reduce margins at pumps "in the spirit of shared responsibility."
