A 30-year-old Cape Town shooter sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a woman, a child in a Atlantis gang shooting
A Cape Town criminal has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a 34-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl in New Year's Eve 2020.
The incident left three people injured in the shooting.
A man known as Anthonio Booysen was sentenced at Western Cape High in Cape Town on Monday 2022. He faces three counts of murder, attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk said the incident happened around 9.30pm when three members of a gang shot several times at a gang member in Flamingo Park, Atlantis.

The victims were hit by stray bullets. Other Three person were injured in the shooting.
The suspects and Booysen were acquitted of all charges. During the trial, a witness identified Booysen as the shooter.
We hope that the family will close down and the sentence will be a hindrance to others who may consider imitating the actions of the accused."
Western Cape police commissioner Lieutenant General Tembisile Patekele welcomed the sentencing.
