Tensions are high in Imo province over the alleged murder of a pregnant woman
The fugitive, identified as Justice Anukam, of Imo prison on Sunday, allegedly stabbed and killed a pregnant woman.
The incident took place in the Umuejechi Nekede community in the Owerri West Local Government Area in Imo state.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation started when
the suspects attacked the victim, who is believed to be returning from church, demanded money from her and the woman refused, unknowingly stabbing the woman to death and bleeding to death.
This made the situation worse when Ihiagwa Divisional police officers who went to rescue the suspect were opposed by angry protesters who said they would burn the suspect.
As a result of the bleeding to the death of the woman, an angry mob surrounded the suspect and used all sorts of weapons to injure him.
Thanks to an order from the state police, the police were able to rescue the suspect and take him to the police station for further investigation.
