A robber was killed during a shooting at a shopping mall, injuring a security guard in Johannesburg
One person was killed and an official was injured in a shooting at the Trade Route Mall in Lenasia, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
there was a robbery in a nearby area "extension 8" and three people fled on foot. The head of Lethal Force Security at Trade Route Mall, Shahim Ismail, said.
One suspect who fled the mall was armed and shot dead a security guard.
The armed suspect was then chased by armed guards and passed through a Pick n Pay loading station. The suspect shot one [guard] in the back.
Ismail said. "The suspect fled outside the parking lot, where he was shot dead at the scene," said Ismail.
