There has been violence against her before as confirmed by her family but the husband's family has denied the violence. The man tore his stomach, removed his intestines and cut them before disappearing with his phone so he could not call for help. Madaki explains, “
The couple were living in a small apartment, so I wondered why no one heard her scream. We were told that help did not arrive until Monday morning when she was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The police reported the incident to me and we shouted. Surprisingly, the matter was not reported to the police. Her parents told us that even last year she was at home because of some problems but her husband's people came to ask her to come back. ”
Rebecca Sambo, Commissioner for Women and Social Development, who also visited the family in Gyel, Jos South, expressed sadness at the incident and reassured the family that the matter would not be swept away on the carpet.
Rebecca Sambo, advised women to speak out if they saw danger in their marriages and not to commit suicide by violent husbands and instructed women to go to the sex unit offices at police stations and report sexual violence at the Desk Officer offices.
