Junior High School (JHS) graduate Musah Atta, 14, was killed by a Rasta suspect and three others working at a galamsey in Prestea Kutukrom in the Western region in an attempt to carry out gold rituals.






Nana Salifu, Chief Kusaasi in Prestea and PRO for the Northern Farmers Association in the Western Region, speaking to the media, said the deceased had returned to his father in Prestea after graduating from Junior High School in Garu Tempane to work and reunite. He said the money was to fund his studies for Senior High School







Nana Salifu told reporters that the deceased who worked for the Okada (Motor) Rider went missing for a while and they decided to look for him when his younger sister told them that there was a boy named Rasta who agreed with the deceased to leave him. his hometown and was last seen, he added







They found blood on his veranda when they arrived at his house but he was fleeing and they took videos of the scene and went to the police station to lodge a complaint.



He said this prompted them (Okada passengers) to search for Rasta. .









According to police investigators, police were able to arrest a Rasta at the Sampa Boarder in Bono Region during an attempted smuggling out of the country about a week ago.



 The suspect (Rasta) was then handed over to Prestea police for investigation and admitted that he did not kill the boy but had a contract with some people to bring the deceased which he did but he too was not given the full amount. you promised him ”






Nana Salifu told the media that they had managed to arrest three other suspects who led police officers into the woods on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 to exhume the body and then placed the body at Prestea Government Hospital Morgue.






Nana Salifu added that some of the boys in the community insisted on killing the suspects but the police tried to stop them which led to an altercation between them. As a result, four boys received bruises and two received treatment at a state hospital and two others were in police custody. Nana Salifu accused Prestea police of shooting and destroying their motorcycles.






He said, "The police have warned us that no one should step on the police station." I took Abusuapenyin (Head of Family) to the station for a check-up but the police chased him away ”
