A priest has been sentenced to life in prison in Lagos for raping his friend's twins,
Mr Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offenses Tribunal on Wednesday sentenced a 54-year-old pastor, Michael Oliseh, to life in prison for raping his 12-year-old friend's daughters.
According to the report, another Mr. Oliseh, an assistant pastor at a Pentecostal church in Lagos State, Okota, raped the lower twins in turn.
According to Investigation Reported, the victims were defiled by the defendant after his father surrendered to his hands and then went to the village to be buried.
Five witnesses testified in the case and five tenders.
Defendant has been charged with two counts of defamation, contrary to Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Procedure Act, 2015.
Oliseh committed the crime in November 2017 in Ago, Okota, Lagos State. Prosecutors' lawyer, Olufunke Adegoke, said.
"Oliseh threatened the survivors that their father would lose his job if they did not tell anyone about the sexual abuse."
Oliseh was caught by one of the neighbors at the compound after he chased and dragged one of the girls with his pants, he added.
Delivering the verdict, Justice Soladoye, who described Oliseh as a "successive rapist", said the prosecutor had proven with conviction the charges of defamation.
“What a dishonest and dishonest teacher, who shamelessly and courageously slept with his friend's children, who had been entrusted with the care of.
"The sentence should run concurrently and the defendant's name should be entered in the Sex Offender Register in the Lagos Regional Government."
The accused was found guilty and charged with life imprisonment.
He added, "Children should not be placed in the care of randy adults and should be kept in the hands of trustworthy and interested adults in their hearts."
Justice Soladoye criticized the parents of the survivors for sending them to live with a prisoner.
"The parents of the survivors lack discipline and should not have sent their children to stay at Oliseh's house," he said.
