Just entering: Suspect robber left dead, two security guards injured after CIT robbery

According to reports, a shootout between cash-strapped security guards and a group of armed robbers left one suspect dead and two security guards injured.

According to police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Netshiunda, during a robbery in Brakpan on Saturday, two G4S security guards were injured.

 The bakkie, with three security guards, was traveling on Lower Road when it was stopped by criminals, Netshiunda said.

Then a gunshot was fired.

One suspect was critically injured and two guards sustained gunshot wounds. "

 The unidentified suspects fled in several vehicles with an undisclosed amount of cash, he said.

Netshiunda said Gauteng police had launched a manhunt for the suspects.
