The incident happened on Friday morning around 4.30am at Highveld Mall in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.

 The two men, who did not know each other, were in the McDonald's area when the dispute over food orders began, said Mpumalanga police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

According to reports, a dispute over a fast food order at McDonald's drive-thru has left one man dead in his car and another fleeing.

The cause of the dispute was unknown.

 The suspect got out of his red VW Golf and went to where the deceased was sitting in his car, allegedly stabbed him once in the chest, Mohlala said.

Paramedics arrived to confirm the victim, a 28-year-old man, who died at the scene.

The abandoned vehicle was registered with a 42-year-old Limpopo man, according to Mohala.
