In Oyo province, Mob killed two suspected motorcycle thieves
On Thursday, two unidentified men were set on fire by a mob in Ibadan, Oyo State, for a motorcycle theft.
The incident happened around 6am near Tafo arena, Jokodo, Ibadan.
According to reports, two suspects robbed the motorcyclist of the motorcycle and shot him.
However, they were chased by some youths in the area,
who found them near the Cheshire orphanage, near the Sango-Eleyele Expressway, where they were beaten and burned.
According to a resident who reported the incident, the men also snatched a bag containing money belonging to the motorcyclist.
He added that some residents arrested the suspects but the police rescued them.
But the angry mob did not allow the police to do their job, the suspects were forcibly taken away from the police and killed.
However, Oyo State Police Relations official Adewale Osifeso confirmed the incident.
