5 suspected arrests by police for possession of 43 ATM cards in Ebonyi.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession of Automated Teller Machine Cards (ATMs), said Ebonyi police commander.
43 ATM cards were recovered and cash from the suspects, Police Command said
DSP Loveth Odah Public Relations Officer (PPRO) told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki on Thursday that the arrests were made between March 30 and April 1, 2022.
DSP Odah said the suspects, who often visit Abakaliki, hail from the Obudu Local Government Area in Cross River State.
The First Suspect robbed a microfinance bank using ATM cards.
PPRO said One Sylvanus Agba, 22, was arrested with 18 separate bank cards and N200,000, while Mary Adie-Ugar, 22, was arrested with two cards and -N100,000 in a bag.
Clinton Atsu, 23, had six ATM cards at various banks, Praise Agiabekong with four cards, and James Agiande, 22, was arrested with 13 cards from various banks and owners. ”
