Terrorists, who are known as Ansaru arm of the Boko Haram sect, attacked a military base at Polewire in Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna State, killing 17 soldiers and injuring 40 Monday attacked.
According to reports,
The said terrorists, were in large numbers came to the area on motorbikes, and having dangerous weapons including Rocket Propelled Grenades, RPGs and others
There was a fierce gun battle between both parties,the Terrorists also killed three locals,and razed (4) four amoured vehicle as well as many military weapons after killing the soldiers
Information gathered was that the terrorists were moving from Niger to Zamfara State, on their usual route in Birnin-Gwari when they strike on the military camp along the route in Birni-Gwari area
The attack came up of around 5pm, Monday. Both battle with gun for over several hours. And because the Terrorists were too many the soldiers were overpowered by the terrorists .
They managed to burn down three military armoured vehicles , wounded 40 soldiers and kill 17 of them w who were confirmed dead.” at Reference Hospital in Kaduna
