Two people drowned during a baptism, in the Masetheko dam, the second such incident this month




According to the data collected, on Monday the baptism had a dramatic change when two people fell into the water and drowned at Masetheko Dam in Limpopo on Sunday.

According to police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, a third person was able to swim out of the dam, and a fourth was rescued.


Mojapelo added that police divers retrieved the bodies of Elvis Ramakgaphola, 21, and Michael Rampa, 29, later in the day.

Two questions were raised,



The drowning comes after a similar incident in the province on June 12, when a pastor and a woman congregation drowned in the Mogol River in Lephalale.

He added that the 36-year-old pastor, Titus Mosima of Abbotspoort, was conducting a religious service with a 39-year-old woman, Noko Suzen Chaba of Hlogo-ya-nku.

Chaba was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead at the scene.



Body of the priest's was then retrieved , day after the drowning.



"Members of the public are warned to be careful and cautious when using dams and rivers for any purpose, including religious purposes." He warned provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
